Here are my scribe notes for the day..
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
9/15/09 drewallworth Today in our wonderful English class, we were introduced to Daily Scribes, which is where one person (this time, me) records the events of the day’s class for those who were absent. After I discovered that everyone was in class today and that my work here was obsolete, Jon laughed manically at my misfortune. Next we learned that we have nine, yes NINE, lists with ten words each to memorize. We must know the definitions of each word and the Greek/Latin roots. Fortunately we only have to memorize about two or three per month for the tests we take on them. Unfortunately each of these tests is cumulative. Ugggg. After that we discussed myths and what they mean. We also watched a video that I am struggling to come up with adjectives for. Upon consulting Burke for help, he gave me nothing. The best Jon could come up with was, “cartoony”, so that’s what I’m settling on. Anyway, this video was a cheesy yet informative portrayal of The Trojan War. Finally, we started reading The Odyssey. We had no homework assigned to us today, other than studying for a quiz on the twelve Olympians next class. -Drew Allworth
